LOOKING FOR A SAFE, SECURE PLACE WITH YOUR OWN FOOD AND WATER? This breathtaking Real Log Home estate is located near the ocean at 1555 Harmony Ranch Road, Harmony, California 93435. Ultimate, stunning, private, 40 acre hideaway, 360 ocean and mountain views, including Morro Rock, the bay, and Hearst Castle. The ranch is gated, secluded, fenced, and surrounded by hundreds of acres. A Cal Fire inspector said the property has incredible defensible space for safety with extremely low risk for fire from surroundings. The neighboring land is pasture land with no brush to burn and it is grazed very efficiently. The closest neighbor in any direction is about a mile away. Our property is NOT part of an association. It is fenced so bring your horses. Many say it feels like Big Sur and Ventana. You can watch a moonrise over the mountains and a sunset over the ocean at the same time. Golden eagles and Bald eagles live here and regularly soar over the property! Butterflies and hummingbirds are numerous. It is just minutes to Cambria, Cayucos, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles. You might be doing nude jumping-jacks where you live now but at least when living here no one sees you.
There are sixty solar panels on the home, and a credit after going through the Winter, from power generated beyond our usage. The home is currently not off the grid but one could add batteries to the system if desired. There is perfect cell reception. Front view of home, with sixty solar panels, and to the left, the three car "Garage Mahal". The former 825 square foot attached garage has been converted in to bonus space and is used as a recording studio. According to our solar Tigo Energy Monitoring System the current lifetime production of CO2-free energy is equivalent to taking 756 cars off the road and planting 3259 trees.
One of many gorgeous ocean views. You can hear the sound of breaking waves and the arrr arrr of seals.
The pool holds over 40,000 gallons and has two waterfalls and a water slide. The spa, just to the left of the left waterfall, flows over the edge to create a nice water feature when it is not heated and in use. Behind the left waterfall is a cave with a heater and built-in bench and behind the right waterfall is the outlet for a water slide that makes you feel you are going to hit a wall and then suddenly puts you in the pool, passing through the falling waterfall water. The color LED lights installed in the spa and pool last year are controlled by a remote control. There are several options for light shows like Romance, Royalty, Sunset, etc. The remote also controls the waterfalls, slide and spa functions. It has a walk-in beach area and several diving locations.
The pool has an array of solar heating panels that water flows through to extend the swimming season. The large plants in this picture behind the orange Birds of Paradise in the foreground are the Birds of Paradise that produce foot long black and white flowers. The pool has an MX8 Baracuda pool sweep that keeps the entire pool clean sending material in to sand filters and then an easy backwash to clean them. It makes maintenance very easy and it always looks like drinking water.
This BBQ will feed everyone. Just steps from the pool and close to the kitchen. It is a real party area.
This is a sunrise view to Cayucos coast, Morro Rock and the bay. It also is the 4th of July spot for watching the Cayucos and Morro Bay fireworks shows.
This is definitely a chef's kitchen. It has a large gas oven with a gas grille and six large BTU burners. The large farm style sink area looks out to the backyard, the pool and to the Santa Lucia mountains. The kitchen has great storage space and there is an additional pantry with a lot of storage as well. The underside of the granite countertop of the island has LED strip lights so you can see a neat glow through the crystals. The sunrise is unreal to watch from there.
The massive rock fireplace fits well in the large living room with a 17 foot tall ceiling. There is a reflective plate in the fireplace to send out additional warmth. It is set up so it is easy to view the fire, the rotating large screen, nearly new TV (which is included) and the ocean out the large picture windows. The living room has a fabulous Klipsch surround sound system.
The shower is made up of large granite slabs with a pattern that continues from wall to wall. The sinks are made of onyx stone and are lit from below with LED strips that give a beautiful warm glow through the sink that makes perfect night light using only about 25 watts. The very large Kohler soaking tub is located near two big venting picture windows with a view over the pasture to the ocean.
The master shower with showerhead and body jets. The shower size is only partially shown here as it is actually very large and could accommodate a wheel chair rolled in to it. Granite seat in the corner. Mr. Steam towel warming rack.
Master bedroom. One of the slider doors faces the ocean and its deck extends over to the living room. The other door lets you on to the deck near the pool. You can lie in bed and operate the remote control to watch the color changes in the pool and operate the water flow over the waterfalls in to the pool.
The property sits where if there is fog you can be above it and the solar panels can continue to produce a lot of energy. In addition to the solar panels, we have a very large PG&E credit due to energy efficient changes to the property.
These are fun 120 sq. ft. buildings located in what we affectionately call "Central Park". They are next to or look over ponds to the ocean. The iris plants are located along the side of the path and run for hundreds of feet and in a wide variety of colors. There are several benches perfectly located for views for the different times of the year as the sun and the moon set in different locations across the ocean. The buildings get a wonderful warm solar gain in the Winter.
This view is looking West, toward Cambria, from the loft. We call that area "Central Park". There are a lot of drought resistant plants, pathways with beautiful iris plants, ponds and benches where you can read, nap or reflect. The entire park and buildings have robust wireless Internet. The ocean is to the left in this picture. On the left side of the driveway you can see a large reservoir that is part of a very elaborate drainage system for every gutter or drain on the upper part of the property. It holds somewhere between 500,000 and a 1,000,000 gallons of water.
To the right of "Central Park" is an organically maintained orchard of 60 plus trees (Fuji apples, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines, pears, citrus and avocado). Some blueberries, raspberries, boysenberries and pomegranates. Potatoes! Greenhouse. There are elevated garden beds that you can sit on the edge of to garden. They are currently planted in strawberries and potatoes. The water is of such fine quality up here that the most delicate plants we have wanted to have are able to grow. We are getting amazing tasting organic fruit from our orchard.
This apple tree was grafted to produce three kinds of apples. This picture is with two kinds of apples and the third type starting to leaf out for an apple later in the year. Incredible to bite into or to juice.
